Summer is here and while everyone looks forward to enjoy this season and bask in the sunlight, it comes with its own set of challenges. Exposure to a lot of sun can create health problems,by following certain healthcare tips, it is possible to enjoy the season to the fullest. Some of the points to be considered are…
  • Hydration – Hydration is the key to good health especially during hot summers. While the amount of water requirement vary for every individual, around 16 to 32 ounces that is minimum of 8 glasses of water is a must for each day according to experts.
  • Sunscreen – It best to avoid being
    outdoors between 10AM to 4PM.But in case if you have to go out, do remember to dab a generous amount of sunscreen lotion over the areas of the skin that are getting exposed to the harsh sunlight. The sunscreen lotion should have a minimum SPF of 30 to safeguard the skin.
  • Exercise – indoor exercise like gyming or home exercise are best as there will no or lesser exposure to the sun to stay fit but Outdoor exercises like swimming are a great option to stay in shape during summer.certianly to an extend as skin in chlorine water under the harsh sun, tend to get tanned and dry.Other activities like hiking, biking and tennis are also very helpful to stay healthy in this season.
  • Good Diet – a good health diet means a healthy you. A good diet should include vegetables and fresh seasonal fruits like water melons, oranges and berries during summer,as they provide all the essential nutrients and helps in preventing damage to skin or hair.
  • Relaxation –going on a vacation is a great idea for mental and physical health and rejuvenates the mind and bring down stress level to an extend . Taking a break from a hectic schedule and enjoying a beach holiday or a hill station or cruise is a best you can give your self and family and get a refresh mind and body also getting a spa done can really help in relaxing. Its a great idea to rejuvenate oneself by visiting some cool place.
  • Protect your eyes – It is essential to wear sunglasses that can shield your eyes from the harmful rays of the sun. Severe sun exposure can lead to diseases like cataract, by continuous exposure to the sun which should be prevented.
  • Wear loose clothes – It is a good idea to wear loose fitting cool cotton clothes that cover most of your body to prevent sun burns and tan. You can take bath frequently and use prickly heat powder to keep skin infections at bay.
  • Sleep – Healthy sleeping habits play a major role in maintaining good health during summer. Avoid staying up late and get enough sleep for optimum health.
  • Watch what out you drink –As much as possible avoid sugary drinks, alcohol and caffeinated beverages as they tend to pile up on calories and are loaded with sugars. Drink water or lemon juice or  whole fruits instead to prevent dehydration,  during summers.
